Since the adult myocardium lacks the inherent ability to repair itself following ischemic injury, exogenous cell sources for the repair of infarcted myocardium have been investigated, and it has been demonstrated that transplanted cells may impart functional benefits via the secretion of growth

Nanoparticle cellular interaction

I am an applied microbiologist specializing in bacteriophages, particularly their interactions with biofilms on medical devices. I also work on phage genomics, and have previously studied phage-host interactions in the context of orchard disease management.

Vaccine Delivery, Self-Administration of Microneedles

My research is focused on cell response to biomaterials, specifically mesenchymal stem cells and primary osteoblasts. Using thin film coating technologies, I modified surface chemistry of titanium surfaces with established roughness to determine the role of chemistry in osteoblast

Current research interests are in the field of micromachining of polymer materials and in biomedical applications of micromachined devices. Other research interests are in inertial sensors, in 3-D multi-chip packaging of MEMS devices, and in microfluidics.
